| GOLS-Certified Organic Latex |
Our mattresses use FSC® certified (C156318) Dunlop latex because it is more eco-conscious than Talalay latex, which requires more processing. We make our GOLS-certified organic latex from co-owned farmer's societies and processing facilities in India and Guatemala, operating under the USDA's National Organic Program. Dunlop latex is naturally antimicrobial, cooler than memory foam, and requires no adhesives to seam it together. It's made with equal to or more than 95% certified organic latex, the highest possible standard, and processed in a GOLS-certified organic facility in India. Our standard Avocado mattress uses two seamless layers of organic latex - 2 inches in the comfort layer (D65 / 14-19 ILD, soft) and a 1-inch layer (D65) in the base. On the Avocado Mattress with the optional attached Pillow-Top, we use three seamless layers of organic latex - 2 inches in the Euro-top layer (D65), 2 more inches in the comfort layer (D65), and another 1-inch layer (D65) in the base. We do not use blended or synthetic latex and the seams will not break down over time. We needle-tuft our mattresses by hand so they contain no chemical adhesives to bind the layers. To be extra thorough, our latex is even eco-INSTITUT label certified, a certification for products fulfilling the strictest requirements on pollutants and emissions following the latest state-of-the-art international research and science.

Rather than wool, our Vegan Mattress uses 400 grams per square foot of GOTS-certified organic cotton batting sourced from family farmers in India. It is a USDA-certified organic cotton fiber farmed to NOP farming standards.

For a luxurious and premium finish, we use GOTS-certified organic cotton (CU863637) in a soft, natural color blended with 3% elastane for functional stretch and enhanced durability-fully compliant with GOTS standards. This fabric is quilted over a generous layer of organic cotton, supported by a thin, non-woven backing-added in accordance with GOTS accessory requirements-to prevent the organic cotton batting from shifting or clumping and to keep natural fibers from working through the outer cotton over time. Reinforced tape edge seams are made with a GOTS-certified organic cotton tape edge and are double-stitched.

| Pressure-Point Support in 7 Strategic Zones |
The Avocado Vegan Mattress features one of the most advanced, internal, pressure-point support units available anywhere, at any price. The Vegan Mattress has between 833 (Twin) and 1,379 (King) individually wrapped coils - arranged in seven strategic zones to support hips, back, and shoulders, plus a reinforced steel perimeter, giving the bed a consistent level of support to the edge. These premium springs float independently in a food-grade polypropylene fabric (non-woven and non-toxic) to improve airflow, support, and spinal alignment. The coils are assembled using a safe and environmentally-conscious adhesive composed of tested components (Waxes: CAS 8002-74-2, Resin: CAS 8050-26-8, Antioxidant: CAS 6683-19-8, EVA Polymer: CAS 24937-78-8). There are three wire gauges used: 16 gauge (narrow diameter) perimeter coils in the reinforced sides and the header/footer zones; 15 gauge coils through the center one-third section; and 14 gauge (larger diameter) coils on both sides of the center section (the same in the shoulder and hip areas, since our mattress is designed to be rotated regularly). Made from heat-treated and stress-relieved wire, these up-cycled steel coils (manufactured by Avocado) enable our mattress to deliver firm edge support for the life of the mattress and help those needing back pain and pressure-point relief. Furthermore, the finished innerspring unit meets OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, EWG Verified®, MADE SAFE®, GREENGUARD Gold, and Formaldehyde-Free Claim Verification standards, ensuring that it adheres to the highest safety and environmental benchmarks.

| Natural Graphite Powder |
Graphite powder is a natural product with a long history of safe use. The graphite we add to the latex acts as a naturally derived fire retardant barrier and exceeds all U.S. standards for flammability. Graphite powder is commonly called expandable graphite. When it comes into contact with fire, the graphite expands fast and absorbs oxygen. Of course, for anything to burn, you need oxygen. On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being the firmest) our standard Avocado Vegan Mattress rates as a 7, which is gentle, yet firm. It's ideally suited for back and stomach sleepers, as well as lighter individuals and growing children - anyone in need of natural cushioning and medium-firm support. With the pillow-top option, our mattress rates as a 6. (It is not overly soft, "plushy" or "sinkable." A mattress that is too soft can actually cause back pain and restless sleep). Instead, our pillow-top model offers just the right amount of added luxury and buoyant cushioning, all of which is buttressed by strategically zoned back support. Our Pillow-Top model more easily adapts to your body's natural curves, and as a result, is ideally suited for side sleepers, all-around sleepers, heavier individuals, athletes, and those in search of pain relief, pressure-point relief, and critical back support.

| Vegan Certified - No Wool or Animal Products |
Avocado vegan products contain no animal or animal byproducts, such as wool. However, we produce products that contain wool, and shared machinery and facilities are used between our vegan and non-vegan products. However, we have demonstrated acceptable steps to thoroughly clean and sanitize all surfaces, tools, and machinery used between vegan and non-vegan production cycles to minimize cross-contamination. PFAS (Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of man-made chemicals used in various industries worldwide. Known for their persistence in the environment and in the human body, they are often referred to as "forever chemicals." At Avocado, we're committed to ensuring our products are free from harmful levels of PFAS. Our mattresses have been rigorously tested using advanced techniques such as Liquid Chromatographic/Tandem Mass Spectrometer (LC/MS/MS) analysis and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis for 241 PFAS substances. This testing method is superior to generic organic fluorine screening tests, which can often be inaccurate and fail to detect specific PFAS compounds. Your 1-Year Avocado Vegan Mattress trial begins after you receive your mattress, and is limited to one mattress per household, after a minimum of 30 days, according to policy terms & conditions.
